Q: What does the name "Burn and Dodge" mean?
A: Burn and Dodge is a photographer's darkroom term. When printing,
to Burn means
to darken highlighted areas with light, and Dodge means just
the
opposite--lightening shadowed areas to bring out details.
Q: What should we wear?
A: We tend to recommend casual clothing with little
or, preferrably, no patterns. But we'd like you to
look like you do
everyday, so wear whatever
you might wear on any other day. You
don't
have
to
get
dressed up - but if you feel like it - go right ahead!
Q: Should we wear black and white clothes?
A: You can if you like. The photos will be more
contrasty it you choose to wear only black and white. Any color
will, obviously, turn a shade of grey ... ie. blues tend
to turn medium grey while reds become much darker.

Q: Can my child's picture be in your gallery?
A: Sure! We'd love to add you to our gallery.
Please download and fill out this Model
Release Form. Email
us and
we'll tell you where to send it!
Q: Can I have my child's photo session
in a park?
A: Yes! If you are looking for something different
than the studio, let's take it outside! If you have any ideas for
an outdoor location ... a park, your yard ... please
let us know. We also can make some suggestions for great outdoor
locations in Louisville.
Q: What kinds of props and backgrounds
do you use?
A: We want the subject to be the first thing you
see in a photo, so we use very simple backgrounds and few props.
Our backgrounds are simply black, white and grey. Our props are
a few chairs or stools. Occasionally we will let a child read a
book to a bear, or bring in a favorite toy or blanket. |
